SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Tuesday was a day to celebrate science technology, engineering and math or STEM at the State Capitol.
The STEM Action Center along with business and education partners set up camp in the rotunda for STEM Day on the hill. They offered hands-on experiences and information on available jobs in the field. STEM education has been a big focus in Utah to help the next generation prepare for the jobs of the future.
“We’re looking at foundational education opportunities that can give kids the vision of what they might want to do when they grow up,” said TAMI Goetz, STEM Action Center.
Right now thousands of high-paying tech jobs are going unfilled in Utah because companies can’t find the talent they need.
