STEM Action Center Innovation Hub
The new STEM AC Innovation Hub is located in the heart of South Salt Lake and works in partnership with the City of South Salt Lake, Granite School District, and the Utah Refugee Connection to provide STEM outreach activities and training for the community. This includes Granite School District, with a 49% minority student enrollment, as the STEM AC will be working with elementary and junior high schools in proximity to the new STEM AC Innovation Hub to provide support in STEM education.
Pilot Kit Programs
The STEM team and volunteers implemented a pilot "To Learn" kit program for blended online and hands-on summer STEM activities for children and families. The STEM AC assembled 600 kits to pilot the program and the kits were distributed to students and parents in the Tooele School District, the Utah Refugee Connection, the Refugee and Immigrant Center, and Girls Scouts of Utah, and others.
