Building FLL Teams That Perform Well

This session will be taught by coaches and team members that won the only two Utah trophies from FLL World competitions. To perform well, teams must master both relationships and mechanics of programming.

  • For 15 minutes, a team-building activity shows the value of diversity.
  • For the remaining minutes, teachers program pre-built robots to navigate a table.
  • Practice using move blocks.
  • Practice using sensors.
  • Teams move from a navigating a basic square to advanced sensor programming with explanations of gotchas and good programming practice.

Thank you to Dana Dellinger of Weber State/FLL for providing robotic parts for session use.
