Utah STEM in Motion Program
STEM in Motion travels to schools and other organizations across the state to provide hands-on, real world, project based learning to generate a passion for STEM careers in youth and support the Governor’s initiative for a STEM competitive workforce in Utah. The mobile classroom will expand access to students in all regions of Utah, and facilitate the ability of the STEM Action Center to bring exciting activities that align with high demand STEM careers. It also will engage teachers in professional development activities in STEM. The mobile classroom overcomes funding issues for STEM-based instructional resources that plague many districts, rural and urban. After a very successful pilot year testing out our curriculum, getting industry feedback, and aligning to state standards, it is very apparent that this experience is highly sought after and of great interest to schools throughout the State. STEM in Motion is also available for corporate and community events. You can help us expand this program reach every district!
There are many ways that your organization can support the Utah STEM in Motion Program:
- A bus donation to provide schools the opportunity to have a bus visit
- In-kind items, such as time, curriculum writing, printing, etc.
- STEM related supplies and equipment.
- Company sponsorships to display their technology on the bus or in the classroom.
Help us excite thousands of students statewide about science, technology, engineering and math by sponsoring our 4th annual STEM FEST! STEM Fest is a 2-day event in October for middle and high school students, where STEM industry members provide hands-on activities focused around STEM. Your company will be at the forefront of showcasing STEM-based careers to over 20,000 students, parents, and teachers. If your business is STEM related, this is a must attend event. You can help support this event by signing up to exhibit and sponsor at utahstemfest.com
Elementary STEM Assemblies
Come support the magic of science, technology, engineering and math at an incredible show presented by Paul Brewer and the Utah STEM Action Center. This show travels to elementary schools throughout the state, and is an incredible opportunity to convey to elementary students how fun and exciting STEM can be. Our goal is to engage them now so that their passion for STEM will continue to follow them into middle school, high school, college and their careers. As part of the show, we will give teachers a handout that includes resources to STEM lesson plans that are a complimentary follow up to the STEM Show and tie to core standards. We will also leave a mathematical magic trick with each student that they can take home to their families. We invite you to consider sponsoring the STEM Show so that we can give more elementary students this exciting experience! Each experience costs a school just under $300.
