Astro Camp

Founded in 1991 by Ed and Lois Douglas, Astro Camp Utah provides opportunities for students to explore, discover, and imagine. Kids experience the excitement of invention and engineering while learning to work in teams, set goals, and take pride in their accomplishments.

LEGO Play-Well Engineering Camp

K-8th Grade

Dream It. Build It. Wreck It. Repeat.

Kids are already naturally gifted creators. Then they get added inspiration from our specially trained instructors. They dive into our massive collections of LEGO® parts. And while they build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles, they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics. They also learn to collaborate and create without fear of mistakes. The experience is joyful, the impact long-lasting.

Play-Well Engineering Camps are available at various locations throughout the state of Utah. There are camps available at the Farmington Community Arts Center in Davis County.

Utah State University Biotechnology Summer Academy

July 10-14
11th-12th Grade

Applications due June 16, 2017!

Biotechnology Summer Academy exposes high school students to the numerous career opportunities available in biotechnology. Students are mentored by USU faculty who work in various disciplines. The week’s activities include communication workshops, lectures and demonstrations, laboratory training, field trips, mentoring and research.

The program is an intensive five-day internship involving a biotechnology-related project. Faculty from several departments at Utah State University volunteer their time, talents and labs to teach students and involve them in current research.

Living Planet Aquarium Camps

Do you have a kid who is wild about animals? Is your tween a marine biologist in the making? Imagine giving your little scientist the experience of a lifetime at a Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Summer Camp. Code for Conservation

9th-10th Grade

Join us for Utah’s Hogle Zoo’s first ever coding camp for beginners! Enjoy the full zoo camp experience with animal encounters and behind the scenes tours, while learning about the world of coding. Work with a partner to create conservation games through the visual block-based scripting language of the app TaleBlazer. Zoo computers and other technology devices will be provided for camp use.

STEAM Explores

June 26 -30 | 3rd & 4th Grade 

Explore STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) with Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum and Red Butte Garden! Spend your mornings at RBG investigating STEAM in the natural world as you create parachutes for action figures, craft rafts out of recyclable materials to cross the creek, cook edible popcorn art, and more. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to Discovery Gateway to continue your STEAM explorations with experiments in the STEAM Lab, art in the Artspace for Kids Gallery, and excursions throughout the museum. Digital Respons-Ability Autism Summer Camp

AWE+SUM: “Attend Westminster—Explore Science—Use Math”

As of May 5, there is still room for 25 more girls in this camp!

The AWE+SUM Camp is a 4 day residential camp for girls who are entering the 8th grade the following fall. Girls stay in a residence hall at Westminster with numerous chaperones at night, and they are well-chaperoned during the day as well. The camp gives girls a chance to experience a college campus, with lots of fun activities: science and math hands-on workshops (see the following samples of past workshops below), swimming and other on-campus activities. Not only do girls see that college is exciting and fun, but they also get to meet girls from all over Utah, plus some out-of-state girls, all while learning about interesting career options in science-related fields.

GREAT Summer Camp

Camp Overview
The GREAT (Graphics and Robotics Exploration with Amazing Technology) summer camps are aimed at students who want to unleash their creativity while learning about computer graphics, robotics and programming by making games, animations, and robots.
These engineering summer camps will be held in the Warnock Engineering building (WEB) and Merrill Engineering Building (MEB) on the University of Utah campus.
