Dell EMC Student STAR Program
The Student STAR Program is a four-day intensive workshop, designed to equip students with the tools needed to excel in both their academic and professional journeys. The curriculum focuses on four foundational pillars of success for young adults: Business, Communication, Teamwork, and Life Skills.

 

Utah Energy Workforce Scholarship (PDF)
The Governor’s Office of Energy Development is proud to partner with Chevron to advance Utah’s energy workforce by providing scholarships to high school seniors who intend to pursue a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) related course of study at a public or private institution of high learning in Utah. This statewide program includes:

  • Five $4,000 scholarships for students attending a Utah college or university
  • Five scholarships for up to $2,000 for students attending a Utah technical college

Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars Program
This scholarship program helps support promising high school seniors who intend to pursue a career in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics program and who live in communities where Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems has a major presence.

 

Summer Mathematics Program for High School Students
The Summer Mathematics Program for High School Students at the University of Utah provides outstanding students an opportunity to develop their talents to the fullest. By presenting intriguing puzzles, challenging problems and powerful ideas, the program stimulates curiosity, develops the intellect, and lays a strong foundation for future work in mathematics, the sciences, or science-related careers.

 

U-S2TEM Scholars program
The U-S2TEM Scholars program is a joint initiative between the University of Utah’s Global Change and Sustainability Center and the Center for Science and Mathematics Education that is aimed at increasing the number of outstanding and diverse undergraduate students who graduate with degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields that focus on the environment and sustainability.

 

T. H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan
This program provides an excellent opportunity for qualified students to receive loan assistance while pursuing a degree in education and a Utah Educator License.

 

Eugene Loh Fly’s Eye Cosmic Ray Scholarship
The College of Science is offering a four-year tuition waiver to be awarded to an outstanding student majoring in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics. Applicants must be residents of Utah and admitted to the U of U for fall semester 2015. Preference will be given to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics majors. Applications are available on the College of Science website science.utah.edu and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2018.

 

Altec Design Scholarship
Altec Design Web is proud to announce their annual Altec Design Web Scholarship. This opportunity is open to students pursuing any major at an accredited institution. The winner will be awarded $750 to pursue their education. Please apply by 7/15/19 by filling out the application form on their website.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student must be enrolled in any accredited institution for Fall 2019 (any major)
  • Must complete essay of no more than 1,000 words
  • Must include recent photo
  • Authorize Altec Design to publish photo and essay on site if selected as winner
  • Winner will be chosen by internal committee. Points will be awarded based on original, creative ideas communicated in submitted essays.

Women in STEM Scholarship
Red Olive is working to bridge the gender gap in computer science, offering scholarship support to encourage more females to pursue CS degrees. In the 20 years this digital content agency has been in business, the gap has only widened: You can count on one hand how many female programmers have applied for jobs at Red Olive, vs. hundreds of males. The 17% rate of women graduating in computer science is simply not meeting industry demand. Red Olive is determined to change that.

 

University of Utah’s ACCESS Program for Women in Science and Mathematics
The ACCESS program’s seven-week summer science course (which fulfills 3 University general education credit hours) is designed to introduce students to university-level study in science and mathematics. Then, during their freshman year, each student is placed in a university research lab working alongside a professional scientist in a field of the student’s choice.

 

University of Utah’s REFUGES program
The University of Utah’s REFUGES program is soliciting applications from soon-to-be high school graduates for a seven-week Summer Science and Engineering “bridge” program. This program provides participants with the unique opportunity to live on campus, learn about the core sciences, experience doing research, and meet faculty and fellow students. The program is geared toward underserved populations (women, minorities, refugees, African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, non-native English speakers, and economically disadvantaged) and provides meals, lodging and a $1,000 personal stipend. Students will need to apply and be accepted to the University of Utah in order to be eligible and will earn three college credit for the course.

 

WaterGirls: Place-based STEM learning to increase diversity
WaterGirls is a field experience program for middle school students (7th & 8th grade). Students will explore their local watersheds and learn about where their water comes from and how scientists measure water quality and assess the health of rivers and streams. Computer Science Scholarships
With increased demand for computer science graduates, ample scholarship opportunities are available for students looking to pursue this field.
