Technology can be found improving many traditional industries. One of the oldest industries has benefitted from drone technology in surprising ways. Drones are increasingly used in farming for tasks like crop scouting, spraying pesticides, irrigation, and mapping fields, enhancing efficiency, precision, and overall farm management.
In this lesson students will understand the application of geometry and area calculations in agricultural practices, particularly in the use of drones for monitoring and managing farm land. They will be able to calculate the area of various shapes commonly found in farm fields and analyze how drones can assist in these calculations.
To do the lesson, the following supplies are needed:
- Drones- https://www.robolink.com/products/codrone-edu
- Whiteboard or chart paper
- Markers
- Ruler
- Calculators
- Pictures or diagrams of farm fields with different shapes
