Lesson: Flash Flood Mitigation - 3D printing project

Sarah Broadbent

Title
Lesson Description

Students will experiment with designing and 3D printing barriers to reduce erosion. Once their design is printed, their group will conduct tests on a model to see how well their design works. The attached lesson file guides students through the whole process of research, design, and testing. It supports measurement and data math standards, 5.MD.3, 5.MD.4, and SEEd standard 5.1.5.

The 3D file for the lesson can be found on thingiverse called “Flash flood setup design with standard box.” The teacher will need to set up a teacher account on Tinkercad and import that file to share with the students. More information is found in the lesson file.
