Lesson Description

In this lab, students will research, design, and build a “rover” that is capable of completing various challenges, increasing in difficulty. Students will also demonstrate knowledge of the engineering design process and problem solving.

Materials

• AA Battery
• 1.5v hobby motor, can be found at Radio Shack
• 2 lengths of 4” long electrical wire (if not attached to battery holders)
• Wire stripper
• Glue stick
• Duct tape or packing tape
• Rubber bands
• Washable markers
• Recyclable container, like a strawberry basket, clean yogurt container, or Solo cup
