Math Mentors Program

About the program

Human connection has a greater impact on math achievement more than any other type of intervention. The Math Mentors Program empowers students to overcome barriers by connecting them with mentors. Math Mentors work one-on-one in small groups and offer encouragement, connection, and compassion. Currently this program is available for grades fourth through eighth.

Meets needs, builds relationships, supports well-being, boosts attendance, instills growth mindset.

For Current Math Mentors

Mentors have the chance to learn about the education system and about math intervention through first-hand experience with students. In the process, they develop excellent management, organization, and volunteer supervision skills as they work hand in hand with professional educators to manage a meaningful and effective tutoring program in a school.

Math Mentors will undergo training with the STEM Action Center before and during their service.
