What is Hummingbird Robotics Kit? Hummingbird is a robotics kit from Bird Brain Technologies.  It includes a wheels and a controller to connect wires from LEDs, motors, servos, and sensors. It uses a micro:bit for programming and you can add it’s sensors and buttons to control the robot as well. From their website:

Design, build, and program a personally meaningful robot out of any materials, with any device, in multiple programming languages.

The kit can be used over and over again for various projects. It can be used to enhance teaching on any subject. The website has a free instructor course and many videos on how to connect the parts and program them. There are also many lesson ideas. In the lesson documents you will find a lesson to help kids be introduced to the Hummingbird Robotics kit

How do I get access to Hummingbird Robotics Kit? For home use the kit can be purchased online. For the classroom you could apply for a grant to purchase a set for your school. Some school districts might have access them through a lending library. Also the UVU Creative Learning Studio has a lending library where you can borrow the Hummingbird Kit.
