The Jr Makerspace is housed in the STEM Outreach Center at Utah Tech University. We can be found in the Atwood Innovation Plaza building at 453 S 600 E, St. George UT 84790.

The mission of our makerspace is to educate K-12 students on maker equipment and philosophies. We partner with a community makerspace also located in the Atwood Innovation Plaza to encourage K-12 students to explore, create, and innovate.

Southeast Education Service Center's (SESC) STEM Activity Kits provide an opportunity for schools within the region to borrow STEM activity kits from SESC. All kits include in-class coaching and professional development, curriculum, and project supplies. This program allows students and teachers an opportunity to explore their own interests, learn to use tools and materials both physical and virtual, and develop creative projects.

We are a nonprofit collective of builders, artisans and makers. We have come together with the goal of creating shared workspace, tools access. and knowledge. Together we have built a number of workshops including a Woodshop, Metal Shop, Machine Shop, Electronics Bench, 3D Printer Lab, Laser Cutters, Textiles Lab, and more. Our classes are open to the community and you can become a member to gain 24/7 access to the tools and equipment needed for your creative endeavors.

The Catalyst Center is part of the nationally recognized CAPS Network (Center for Advanced Professional Studies). The STEM Action Center’s Innovation Hub is a 2000-square-foot community makerspace that offers hands-on, maker-focused STEM experiences for participants of all ages. Our Innovation Hub aims to increase participants’ confidence and competence in using a wide variety of tools and pieces of equipment. We currently offer:

Open Tinker Time: Tinker Time is a free opportunity from 12 - 8 p.m. on Fridays to visit the Innovation Hub to work on personal projects. This time is completely unstructured with Hub team members present to help answer questions or troubleshoot problems.
Community Classes: If you are interested in learning a specific skill, Innovation Hub community classes are the best way to do so! Our classes are always project-based and focused on developing competence in a particular skill or content area.
Robotics: The Innovation Hub offers space and expertise to help competitive robotics teams. Contact us if you are interested to learn how your team could best utilize our space and resources.

USU Extension STEM Programs

4-H inspires the next generation of leaders, inventors, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers. We are the nation's largest Positive Youth Development Program and offer a wide variety of programs, projects, contests and events. Focus areas include computer science, robotics, drones, environmental science, Agriscience, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Youth may participate in one or many areas through our 4-H At Home or community club offerings.

Mini-Tinker Lab

The Utah County 4-H Mini-Tinker Lab is available to both 4-H and non-4-H youth or adults residing in Utah County. The Mini-Tinker Lab is a small space designed to provide opportunities for community members to learn and engage with STEM concepts. Whether you need to print a small project on our 3D printers or need access to everything you need to learn; the Mini-Tinker Lab is just the right space. Located within the USU Extension office in Orem, the Mini-Tinker Lab offers in-house use of laptops, iPads, Robotics options, and much more.
