This bird nest boxes project is an engaging longer term project Where the students learn about birds and observe behavior and a nest cycle. It is taught in phases.

  • In Phase 1, students will learn about bird life cycles and about local bird species, and where and how they nest.
  • In Phase 2, students plan various ways to feed and protect the birds, and design next boxes for their chosen bird.
  • In Phase 3, students will create the boxes, install them and monitor the boxes.
